Funding supports manufacturing expansion

Standard Bots has raised $200 million in Series C financing at a $1 billion valuation. RoboStrategy led the round alongside existing investors including General Catalyst. The funding supports design, production and deployment of the company’s industrial robots. Standard Bots is expanding its Glen Cove, New York, manufacturing facility to 70,000 square feet, increasing space for its vertically integrated production operations.

The company designs most of its own components, including actuators, and assembles final products in-house. Its target is to manufacture all parts domestically by 2027. Standard Bots’ physical-AI approach teaches robots through demonstration and observation. Co-founder, chief executive and chief engineer Evan Beard described deployments, collection of real-world data and continued iteration as part of the company’s development approach.

Earlier financing for robotics development

In July 2024, Standard Bots announced that it had secured $63 million in funding. Its latest Series B round was led by General Catalyst, with participation from Amazon Industrial Innovation Fund and Samsung Next. The company connected that financing to development of an upcoming AI-powered robot and an expanded range of RO3 robotic arms.

At that stage, Standard Bots’ stated objective was to make advanced robotics accessible to businesses without requiring advanced technical skills. The development programme combined its AI-driven systems with a broader hardware range. Evan Beard was identified as chief executive in the company’s announcement. https://standardbots.com/articles/standard-bots-raises-63m-to-accelerate-ai-in-robotics

Factory and product milestones in 2025

Standard Bots launched an expanded production facility in Glen Cove in May 2025. The 16,000-square-foot factory doubled the floor area of its previous Long Island location. Alongside that expansion, the company announced a robot with a payload capacity of 30 kilograms and a reach of two metres. Its planned Automate demonstrations covered hardware and software capabilities:

  • the new robot for heavier tooling and larger workpieces;
  • in-house physical AI powered by the Nvidia Isaac platform;
  • task demonstrations and subsequent annotation of demonstration data using Isaac Sim.

The company planned a broader release of its model during 2025 following private beta testing. It also invited manufacturers to a factory grand-opening event scheduled for 12th June 2025.
